Hi KurlyPlanet family. I hope you are keeping well and safe wherever you are. It has been an unprecedented year, with lemon after lemon thrown at us, we’ve had no choice but to learn how to make lemonade. We’ve been often asked ‘how do I take care of afro hair, curly hair and all natural hair in lockdown?’. So let’s talk hair lemonade! Well not literally (I’m sure there’s a YouTube video for that though…) How can we make the best of our hair health during this time? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here in the United Kingdom, we are in the middle of our second lockdown. That means we are staying home to stay safe. So what happens to our hair? How do we manage our natural hair, kinky hair, coily hair, curly hair or afro hair at home? How do we manage this isolation period without access to our hairdresser, braider, stylist or beauty supply store? We have an idea! A HEALTHY AFRO HAIR CHALLENGE! Why not use this time staying indoors to reconnect with your hair, to create some hair goals and to be intentional about achieving them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal of this hair challenge is not to exhaust because let’s face it, life is already pretty exhausting! But to lay down a set of healthy hair practices you should be implementing already (like covering your hair before bed for example) but don’t always follow because, well several excuses<\/s> reasons I’m sure, but also lack of motivation sometimes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The KurlyPlanet Hair Challenge aims to make it easier to follow these healthy hair actions by breaking them down into simple tasks, creating an environment of support to encourage and motivate one another and also to come together and have some fun as a community in these trying times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
